With yesterday’s announcement that GE is selling their Intelligent Platforms business to Emerson, as well other recent sales of their traditional industrial businesses, and the firing of their CEO, investors and customers are worried about the future of GE. The Automationer asks, “WTF GE?”

“As a manager of a business, I know that occasionally taking a $23 billion loss is just a temporary setback.”
– William F., Plant Manager

“I think GE will be fine. There’s such a huge market for aircraft engines today. There’s no need to focus on the small stuff that’s installed in thousands of industrial facilities, and used in every aspect of manufacturing.”
– Kate M., Plant Engineer

“I knew it was the beginning of the end when GE Fanuc released VersaMax.”
– Joey P., Operations
