Programming managers at LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network with more than 950 million members in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide, plan to add their new series, “After Work Specials” to their mid-season line up starting in early 2024.
Realizing the success that ABC had in the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s with the “Afterschool Specials,” LinkedIn sees the potential to bring similar morality tales to that same audience now all grown-up and in the work force.
“There’s been no lack of these corporate life morality videos posted on our platform mainly by people who don’t work in the corporate world. It’s just our turn to lead the discussion,” stated Rebecca Davies, Director of Programming at LinkedIn.
Davies continued, “You know, like those videos where the manager is acting like a boss and not a leader… only to realize his mistakes after everyone quits and they lose the ‘big contract’. Our platform users just love these stories, and the acting and script writing are top notch. Our vision is to bring more of that to LinkedIn.”
The new “After Work Specials” series will include these episodes in Season 1:
“Mom and My Boss Can’t Hear Me”
“The Late Great Me! Story of a Teenage Alcoholic now a Working Alcoholic”
“My Manager Was Never a Kid”
“Please Don’t Hit Me, VP of Marketing”
“Have You Ever Been Ashamed of Your Coworkers?”
LinkedIn programmers are hoping you like and share their new series as you throw down your briefcase after work, and settle down on the carpet in front of your personal device and tune in.
